Pros

Good retirement, time off, health benefits, tuition reduction. I love my coworkers and I do feel like I can talk to leadership pretty easily. You get to make a difference in students' lives which is amazing.

Cons

I love my job working with students who want to study abroad. However, the amount of stress and work for the amount of pay just does not feel balanced. I know that leadership does their best to but ultimately being in the Higher education sector just has be because youre passionate and not for the pay. Of course if you are able to work your way into leadership that is a bit of a different story. But not always easy to do and takes quite a while (and lot of work).

Pros

The professors have solid relevant industry experience, and there is a healthy amount of focus on the connection between learning and career preparation.

Cons

There are inconsistencies between instruction quality across departments at times. It can make students feel like their grades are in the balance depending on getting into a certain professor's class as opposed to another's.

Pros

- A lot of instructional design work in which you can meaningfully contribute. You will learn a lot of tools and do a lot of work.

Cons

- A lot of work. ASU does way more work than other universities. - Terrible pay. At other universities, you will probably do less than 1/2 the work and be paid about the same. - A lot of meetings which feel useless. - Promote a culture of "openness" but it feels like everyone is scared to say what they really want to say A lot of dancing around before actually getting to the point.
