Pros

ASU is a very large and innovative university with many fantastic opportunities for students. When you work at ASU, you know that you are impacting students (either directly or indirectly). A lot of great people work at ASU and have a passion for student success. Plus, if you're a pro staff member who's at least 20+ hours a week, you get very discounted tuition.

Cons

Unfortunately, from talking to friends and former colleagues at ASU, some salaries at ASU are not too high. As an employee, you have to pay for parking (which can be up to $720/year depending on your campus), so take that into account when figuring out your net salary.

Avoid Enrollment Services

Pros

It is difficult to give an overall review of two stars for ASU as a whole because it seems that beyond the Enrollment Services department, there are positive and enriching areas to work within the University. The pros of working at ASU include access to taking classes and pursuing a Master's degree (if you choose) and working with students.

Cons

The leadership within Enrollment Services is extremely poor. The leaders I work with most are self-centered, not trustworthy, don't care about the professional development of the people within the department and seemingly, are in way over their heads. There is a consistent game of favorites put in place by one manager with his team. The environment is not positive and not supportive. The compensation is poor and the feedback is unappreciative.
