Wonderful to hear how motivated you feel and how much you value the people you’re working alongside. Arm’s strength has always come from extraordinary teams and the energy they bring to solving complex problems. We know the pace and hours can fluctuate, especially when tackling ambitious goals, and we want people to have the flexibility and support they need to sustain their impact. Thank you for sharing your early impressions from Seattle, it’s clear you’re already making a difference.

Pros

Cambridge is nice Reputable company Possibility of internal moves

Cons

If you're a compiler engineer or a software engineer joining a compiler team under CE-SW, please reconsider. Upper management are known to play favourites, hold on to toxic employees, you can complain a million times about bullying and discrimination but the ones who bully and discriminate are not held accountable since they are friends of the managers. The diversity of the teams are on the decline and when these issues are raised the response is usually “there's nothing we can do”. I would stay away unless you're hired based on a personal connection to the engineering managers.

We’re sorry to read about your experience on the compiler side of the business. Bullying and discrimination are not acceptable at Arm, and we take these concerns extremely seriously. Diversity, equity and inclusion are central to how we operate, and the behaviours you describe do not reflect the culture we are committed to building. Please raise this directly with the People team or with Ethics so the issues can be properly investigated; if you prefer, you can also reach out via glassdoor@arm.com with more detail. Your feedback matters, and we want to understand it fully.

Pros

1. Benefits are great. Great health insurance, standard 401k, good ESPP 2. Compensation is competitive for top 10% of market 3. SE org is relatively new, and gives a lot of autonomy to get things done

Cons

1. Hard to find information due to number of information sources. We have slack, teams, confluence, jira, SharePoint, gpts, etc. 2. Lack of remote options. The company's official stance is hybrid, but unofficially a lot of people get away with remote. Would be nice for them to officially allow remote status after some tenure

It’s good to hear you’re finding value in the benefits, competitive reward, and autonomy in the SE organisation. We know information can feel fragmented with so many tools in use, and your suggestion about more common platforms and search is helpful. Hybrid working is our standard approach, but we understand preferences vary and appreciate your feedback on remote flexibility. Growth at pace means some processes evolve unevenly, and input like yours helps us improve how teams operate at scale. Thanks for sharing your perspective from San Diego; it’s clear you’re already making an impact.
