Pros

Good benefits - free medical/dental/vision, 401K match, good RSU grants, and bonus plan Decent salary Good vacation plan if you can take it.

Cons

IP group is in shambles. Management has no vision and very limited knowledge. Dictatorship and if you don't fall in line you will get bad reviews. Very poor management skills. No one cares about the employees. Highly unprofessional environment. Most of the engineers don't know anything.

Thanks for leaving a review. The majority of the reviews on Glassdoor have been positive, though not everyone will have the same experience. That said, the job experience you describe is not one I have heard in my time here at ARM. ARM benefits are quite generous as you mentioned, and we have a new reward structure in place with our acquisition from Softbank, due to the fact that we no longer have stock to give out as reward for performance. The company is built on meritocracy, with job assignments based on ability and talent. If you did not feel that you were treated fairly while at ARM, then my recommendation would have been to first consult with your line manager on your career progress. If the line manager is why you felt you were treated unfairly, then I would have recommended you connect with the People Business Partner, as they are there to help ensure that each group operates effectively and efficiently. To your comment on the IP group in shambles, with no vision/limited knowledge from Management, we recently restructured the organization in to two distinct groups: IPG, which focuses on the licenses technology we provide to semiconductor companies and ISG the IoT Services Group, which operates security and management services for connected devices. We did this so as to focus on growing the business to reach our desired goal of have 1 trillion connected devices in the next 20 years. -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

Fast growing company. Great people to work with.

Cons

No room to grow. More and more responsibilities added to job. Salary increase barely enough to cover inflation. No appreciation from managers on hard work and additional work.

Thanks for leaving a review. With Softbank's acquisition of ARM, we are growing at an even faster pace than before, hiring across all functions and departments. New teams and structures are coming in, with opportunities for current employees to move to a new challenge within the company. Regarding salary increases, the majority of reviews in the company are considered 'High Performing' which means the salary increase will always be above annual inflation rate. If you've 'Exceeded Expectations', the salary increase will be higher, along with the bonus payout. It's an exciting time to be at ARM, and since you did leave a positive outlook of the company, we do hope that you will reconsider coming back to ARM in the future! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Good but not getting better.

Pros

Good opportunities to do some interesting work. Great people who give their best all the time under stressful conditions at times. Company is going through a growth period and appears to be making efforts to nurture it's people. Reasonable working environement. Great local community improvement schemes and charity support.

Cons

Compensation is not so competitive anymore. Bonuses are OK but not reflective of hard work put in to achieve them. Starting to feel less like an engineering company. With the constant focus on cost reductions the value of some engineering has been degraded or cast aside. In the past this work has enabled better quality products & experiences for customers. We're in danger of becoming short sighted and losing the bigger picture.

Thanks for leaving a review, and for your over 10 years of service! Like you mentioned, the company has grown quite substantially and quickly over the last few years and we do need to be cognizant of what got ARM to where it is today - the engineers. We are putting in processes in place to ensure that the company continues to grow while making the work environment an enjoyable one. In regards to compensation, the Rewards team completed a company wide analysis, and employees should now be placed in the 75% band, meaning your base salary will be higher than 75% of your peers in the relative market (location, function). Once you factor in bonuses and RSUs, the total compensation package is quite competitive. Do know that I do pass on the feedback from Glassdoor reviews to the People leadership team, which are factored in along with the ARM Employee Engagement survey to determine where we may need to address certain issues. We would love to hear your feedback again (employees can leave a review once a year) next year to see if we have improved, or still need to improve! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager
