      Good training, pay, benefits, nepotism still in place

      Pros

      Government benefits and lots of opportunity for advancement if you're in the right clique. Numerous areas of responsibility.

      Cons

      Nepotism is still alive and well in this organization. Multi-generational leadership, commanding general has basically been on the job over twenty years, seems to be holding it for another family member to be tenured in rank. Senior leadership includes a lot of retired officers now serving as civilians. Senior leadership wants all soldiers to deploy.

      Benefits ( Education, Health, Life Insurance) Compensation given workload (One Weekend a month, two weeks in the summer, Just like the commercials say)

      Cons

      Sometimes the work weekends fall on a weekend that you might not want to work on. The military is not for everyone
