      Pros

      It isn't necessary to be proficient in engineering to be a favoured Arup employee, you need merely to have spent a gap yah somewhere patronising the natives.

      Cons

      Should you leave the Arup bubble for another company, you'll find out that you do need to be proficient in engineering.

      Pros

      Total freedom to put your own stamp on things. It's not disorganised, but organic. Staff are treated like adults and respected to make their own decisions. Some of the work is truly inspiring and the company very obviously lives and breathes its brand values and the principles laid out in the Key Speech.

      Cons

      Career progression in Business Services (i.e. anything outside the customer-facing service lines) is limited. Lack of edge and sometimes foggy decision making/lack of imperative can be frustrating
