Fantastic company, if overwhelmed at times
Pros
Arup has very friendly staff and bends over backwards to be an inclusive, pro-employee environment on an operational policies level. The projects that staff work on are interesting and the company actively encourages the sharing of thoughts and ideas and generally does a great job of sharing job wins, project milestones, and staff accomplishments. Staff are also encouraged to get outside of their comfort zone and try STAs or LTAs in other Arup offices in different countries. Independent learning and a growth mindset is also heavily encouraged.
Cons
Arup's staff skews very young, generally favoring college graduates. By itself, that isn't an issue, but it does mean it has more issues derivative of a professionally inexperienced workforce such as extreme work hours, poor planning or prioritizing, and expectations for minute tasks to be done right away. But in general, everyone is very polite and grateful.
