Asia Society is a very prestigious organization that has great connections. Will certainly look good on your portfolio, and a great place to build up experience.

Cons

Asia Society is being 'headquartered' in New York, and des not take the time to listen or work in a more cooperative manner with the global centers. Unfortunately, the society and centers are set-up in a way that each global center function independently, with a different set of trustees to adhere to. Hence, these 'global centers' sometimes don't align with the demands of the NY headquarters. Also, certain departments in the headquarters don't take the time to help other centers or initiatives in the institution--which makes Asia Society even more diffused. There are certain 'personalities' and 'egos' in NY that keep the company from functioning as truly ONE Asia Society. Also, management don't care about keeping their great employees. They don't provide enough opportunity for growth.

Pros

Organization does good work and the events and people can be very interesting. Important and experienced people in upper management.

Cons

Few employees, lean salaries as it is a nonprofit. Fund-raising and money is always an issue. While the events can cover important issues, the activities of the organization don't necessarily impact them in any way.
