Pros

Still some potential for certain job categories. Software engineers are the most valued. If you work in an area they need, you can negotiate a decent position and salary, depending on where you live. There is still some advancement possible for top performers.

Cons

Aspect sales have been slowed by the world-wide economic downturn and by the fact that they face some very tough competition. Their flagship product is having problems with quality and with meeting the release schedule. They suffer from being a company that has grown by purchasing other companies and trying to build their central product by kludging acquired products together instead of creating an integrated product from the initial design. They are much more focused on profit than on the welfare of their employees - many have not had a raise in years.

Pros

Decent health benefits, holidays, vacation. Ok Salary.

Cons

Does not provide sufficient technical training for their staff to perform the job functions the company expects. Very little salary increases and no room to advance. Once you hire on, your position and salary stays the same.

Pros

Interview went well, 80% of the people have been good to work with, nice work/life balance in most regards.

Cons

Once you settle in and think that the company has a direction and a goal then you find out that in reality the place is turning upside down. All employees with the exception of Executive Management did not receive raises for 5plus years, but ETeam got their raise and bonuses every year. Now 401K matching has been cut, but again the CEO got his 5mil bonus this year. Layoffs have increased significantly the past couple of months and the work/life balance is going out the door. There is no opportunity for career growth, no new technology coming into the company, and any opportunities if new technology does come in are given to only a couple of people who run the show behind the smoke and mirrors. The people that stay here only do so because they are insecure in finding another job or take advantage of some managers who are flexible with your work schedule. At least 50% of the group I deal with does less than 3 hours of work per day and the people that go the extra mile are not treated any differently, no pay raise, no incentive to do so other than they do not want to become the stale resources the other people have become because they do not intent to stay with the company and everyone knows you have to keep up your skill level to get a better job. The health insurance continues to change and now we have the worst health insurance I have seen in a mid-size company in 20 years as a Senior Professional. This company offers no benefits that are more than a start-up does and the pay rate is either the same or less, why not take the risk of going to a place where your ideas are encouraged, stock options are available, and you see a future. There is not one person in a group of 50 I work with that is not looking for a new job currently, stability is gone.
