Pros

Average pay, nice co-workers for the most part. The pace was pretty easy. Everything about the place is pretty average. There can be good growth opportunity if you're early in your career and fit their mold.

Cons

They got bought out by PE early 2025 and changed management and it killed any hope for culture to grow in a positive way. They rewarded the worst leaders and started removing the best ones and pushed the positive culture drivers out. It's fine to work at but won't be a best place winner.

Pros

Decent compensation and benefits package Brand recognition in the financial services industry Talented colleagues who genuinely care

Cons

Toxic work environment: The marketing department is plagued by internal politics, poor communication, and a lack of psychological safety. Unrealistic deadlines: Projects are often under-scoped and over-promised, leaving employees scrambling to meet last-minute demands. Poor leadership: There is little accountability from management, and feedback is not welcomed unless it aligns with leadership’s narrative. Favoritism: Opportunities for advancement or recognition often come down to personal connections rather than merit. Bait-and-switch roles: The job you are hired for is rarely the job you end up doing. Expect your responsibilities to shift without notice or support. Long hours, low respect: Work-life balance is more of a tagline than a reality. Burnout is common, and contributions often go unnoticed.

Pros

Assetmark has a culture that I align with. It’s fairly laid back and has a lot of great people. I also enjoy the work I do and the impact I feel I make at the company.

Cons

It’s been noticed that in many cases middle management isn’t effective. Many have noticed that not enough impact is being made in that area and we need more of a player/coach style rather than just a coach. Especially when our employee size is on the smaller end. Our compensation also feels below market average for our positions. I feel we should revisit this is we want to remain competitive in the industry and retain great employees.
