Good place to work, but burnout is high because of workload.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable co-workers. Great sense of teamwork and pulling together to get things done. Pay good salary.

Cons

High workload with everything being a top priority and poor work/life balance. Constant deadlines don't allow for current goals to be completed before new goals are set.

Pros

Many great people to work with. Compensation was good. The new executive management under Phil have good strategies most of the time - big improvement over previous management team. Stable company with lots of opportunities to move around in the company (if you are below management level).

Cons

Very focused on being politically correct and promoting/hirring women much more than men. The HR is made up of 98% women (including the director). They go all out in advertising that fact and stating their goal is to hire X% more females. The risk management side is a mess. It is headed by a 65+ year old who is never around, very slow in making a decision, and lacks the ability to use simple technology. Appears to be in it just to cash in for his retirement - honestly can't see why he is employed at the bank. Retail side is interesting in the fact taht they know they don't pay their tellers much and demand A LOT but refuse to make a real change (like paying them more or removing the sales push - simple). They seem comfortable with a 50% annual turnover and yet scream about it at the same time. IT side is also challenging...they have lots of people where the bank has been their only employer. Essentially they made friends long ago and they watch each other's back - it is like a club for useless people who would not have a chance of making it in another company.
