Pros

Never boring. Every day is a new adventure. Sometimes the Business will come by and tell us that a new client is to go live in a couple of weeks. We have yet to receive the first file from them but we start programming anyway.

Cons

Work is relentless. You may have 4 balls (projects) in the air, all waiting for more info from the Business. The minute you as for more work, BOOM, all 4 balls will come down.

Pros

Ok benefits, ok paid time off, work at home opportunities

Cons

Even if you work hard and your performance is excellent it's still difficult to advance to higher position. There's too much micromanagement. The culture of the company has declined drastically. There is gossip, employee retaliation (I've experienced retaliation), the human resources department does not provide solutions to employee valid complaints in violation of ethics. There is favoritism. The company does not want to increase pay for employees taking multiple client calls which increases the work load. The hard workers have to pick up the slack of lazy ones. Team leads are baby sitters. Each department is on their own page which makes for numerous mistakes which should not be happening.

Pros

So overall Assurant is an OK place to work. Management for the most part is awesome. There are times when you will get a bit frustrated but it honestly has nothing to do with management its more about the nature of the job. So for the pros I will say that Assurant tries and make the atmosphere a happy one. From PJ day sports dayto customer service week activities they try and make the job as fun as a call center can be. Assurant has one of THE BEST health care plans and with the generous paid off time they give you to enjoy life outside of work it kind of balances out the stress of call center life.

Cons

This is a call center!! So most of you day will be spent with people calling in either upset or yelling. So if you can not handle angry people this is definetly not the job for you. Also you will be force to work holidays and weekends. Maybe not both weekend days but definitely one. They only close on Thanksgiving and Christmas so all other holidays you will have to work if you are scheduled and don't get you time off request in advance. But with the almost three weeks of paid time off you get that more than makes up for having to work on some holidays.
