Although i’m full time, most of my coworkers are working less than 25 hours a week with completely open availability. I’ve also requested more hours because working full time at $10/hr doesnt pay my bills, and instead of offering more hours to current employees that are in need of them, they just keep hiring people, every week we have at least 1-2 new employees. The turn around rate at my work is considerably close to that of fast food chains because most people don’t work there for more than 1-2 months. Also they’re just like any other corporation and will try and use every worker to their absolute most, even if that includes pushing them out the door to another job. Oh also, since beginning working my job here (during covid) there have been 7 people who’ve contracted covid and no one was made aware until AFTER those employees returned from their quarantined time, they do not make employees aware of being in contact with others that test positive and they do not require customers wear masks, but do require we continue to help customer’s that aren’t wearing masks even if we’re against it. And they do not follow other guidelines for covid like checking temps or sanitizing registers or shopping carts. They only just now purchased a thermometer for employees to use last month (March 2021) even though Covid has been going on for over a year already. I heavily advise you not to apply to this job as it is nothing but a transitional job for when you are in between jobs, because this place does not care about its workers, not matter how much time and effort they put in and definitely isn’t a job you can make a career out of.
