Pros

At Home keeps its retail system as simple as possible. There is always work to do, and has the most amazing work environment that I’ve been apart of. The people I’ve worked with are some of the most amazing individuals I’ve worked with, and am so thankful to have gotten to know them. The managers are also all amazing and are always there to help you, they are always understanding as well. All in all it is a great place to work if you need a job.

Cons

The company claims it is trying to be the best place to work, but it doesn’t feel like it, when they don’t offer benefits (besides life insurance) for all employees (only management gets benefits). Associates are severely under paid for all the work they do, and in the end it really isn’t worth it. They are not the BEST company out there to work for, but the are a good company to work for, if you just need the work.

Pros

The insurance is wonderful. The discount is great too. They do have other employee programs but no one knows how they work or how to start them. Human Resources is a complete joke.

Cons

The company is terrible. First off they have no allocation for stock. The company purchases products and just shipped them to stores. They have no way to tell how much fright a store is getting and no way to tell what needs to be shipped. They keep up to 100 pallets of unworkable merchandise in the back. They have no training program. If you decide to come on board with them you will be sent to other stores to clean up stores that are in bad condition due to a lack of payroll. They will not teach you how to run the day to day operations or explain the functions of your job. They have no guidelines on merchandising the store. They make a brand new store operate on 580 hours. It sounds like a lot but I promise you it is not. The company also does not hire full time. Only 3 people are considered full time, store director, ops manager and store manager if the store is allocated a store manager. There are no job aids to help you will processes. Employees work and do not get paid. The payroll department leaves early on Friday's but cannot answer phone calls or emails. The district managers do not care if an associate is getting paid or not. The don't care if an employee is having issues with completing W-4's because employees have no way to do their taxes due to system issues that are on going at all times.
