Pros

If you have a passion for the world of aviation, then this is not a bad way to get your foot into the door. Tips, paid monthly lunches(I suppose) and the variety of customers always surprises you.

Cons

If you come into Atlantic Aviation with an extensive background in the fixed base operations industry, do not expect to be compensated for the experience and knowledge. Be prepared for an ever-changing schedule. A very low quality of life, due to long hours and short staff. When you are in, be prepared for Smoke-n-Mirrors.

Pros

Great coworkers with a shared passion for the aviation world. Average pay with some chance for advancement, mostly to a supervisor position. Benefits are decent. Plenty of overtime during the busy season. Get to be outdoors if you enjoy that.

Cons

No specified lunch break; only break time is when traffic decreases. Long hours for supervisors, with no overtime. Corporate denied hiring of more LST's when we were severely understaffed and bringing in record profits. Sometimes snobby customers who looked down on line service.

Pros

If you like to work with airplanes it is great. Networking with the variety of people that fly in or that own there own companies/planes.

Cons

Your just a number, no backing from the management. Always get pointed out for flaws, or what the customer sees.......no your side of the story. Management would leave daily for 2 or three hour lunch breaks, which was usually our busiest times. Didn't get a 90 day review and therefore no raise although it may have only been a few cents. Longest probationary period for a line tech even though I had 25 years military experience doing exactly the same thing, still was never designated an official line tech after 5 months. Didn't deserve the wages seeing what the company makes over a monthly average, fuel prices have been the same since I started even with the downward trend over the last month.
