Expectations of Senior-level output with Entry-level pay
Pros
Good office space, Corporate environment was friendly, occasional perks (tickets, food, etc). Benefits were good. People were typically friendly. Some fun corporate events take place.
Cons
Pay was very low, expected output and hours was very high, stress was very high, judgement for not working 50 hours/week was high, mid-level management had expectations that changed daily and rejected work that didn’t align with todays’s expectations. Polite “Thank You”s were very seldom to be heard. Budgets for projects were set for someone with years of experience, and going over budget was not good. I always worried about how I was going to get things done before the next thing landed on my plate. My spouse noticed huge changes in my personality within 2 weeks of my departure, once all of my stress was gone. Banks of this size usually have 25-30% more auditors to share the load, but Union did not.
