Pros

- Tons of Opportunity to Travel - Decent benefits - Freedom to work how you want as long as the work gets done. - Co-Workers (at the time) were some of the best people i've met although I have heard this has changed since outsourcing.

Cons

- Outsourcing to India for IT/Finance - oops - Relocating the North American Office to Mississiuga from Sudbury (Why? Customers were in Northern Ont not Southern) - Management out of touch with the needs of the customer. - Management has unreal expectations (work / life balance .. not on our watch) - Management does not understand poor decisions and does not appreciate being told the proper way to do things.

Pros

Acquisitions of smaller organisations every month shows a relentless desire to grow. Strives to be market leader in every sector they operate in. This can lead to the opportunity to work around the world on 3 year postings, gaining knowledge and experience along the way. Good company for a short term CV builder, but I doubt you will stay there much longer.

Cons

If your company is acquired, you will be assimilated into the AC way. It has worked for them, so why change? Ultimately this will lead to your company becoming little more than a brand in the AC portfolio. They promote from within the existing empire and will use their proven model regardless of how innovative yours might have been. Management is distant, detached and disengaged from the workforce, heavily driven by numbers.

Pros

Most techs are fairly competent and easy to get along with until the general culture of the company destroys their workplace demeanor. If you like to travel you will definitely be offered the chance to do so. The pay isn't terrible and benefits are okay. Great place for the ambitious woman willing to "do whatever it takes" to climb the corporate ladder. If you're good friends with, or related to someone who has made it across the line to an office position it seems you'll be happy.

Cons

Technicians here are considered to be lower than whale poo in the company hierarchy and treated as such without it even being hidden. Management is typical Copco, more interested in climbing the ladder and planning hook-ups with a co-worker or intern than finding the solution to a problem. Imagine the loudest, pushiest, blowhard bully you know, add in a healthy dose of pathological lying and some good old Mad Men Wannabe style womanizing and that's who you'll be taking orders from. If you keep your head down and things go your way on the job, leaving management to their elephant ears and skirt-chasing you'll be fine. Once the unevitable happens though and there is a hitch, look out because it all rolls downhill and as a tech you are the last stop. After a couple instances of this happening you will eventually end up on the wrong side of someone in power who will do whatever it takes to get rid of you. The good news is that you will be given a not-so-subtle warning that your days are numbered. Take my advice, heed that warning and find another place to go on your own because if you make them fire you, they will do whatever it takes, it'll be ugly and you'll be blacklisted.
