Pros

Great product and some great people

Cons

Senior management and CEO are running the company into the ground. There have been multiple layoffs and many VPs and others left because of the horrible treatment of employees.

Thank you for your review. I regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We try very hard to make the best decisions and while we appreciate your taking the time to rate us and express “Cons” from which we and others outside the organization can learn, I feel compelled to add some clarity. The last layoff conducted by Atlas was in October 2008 – an event that has significantly impacted growth decisions made by the company’s leadership since that time – specifically, decisions that support conservative, disciplined, yet consistent growth. Our headcount over the past five quarters is: 112, 124, 138, 129, 136 and we forecast that we’ll be at least 143 people strong by the end of Q2 2017. Additionally, we’ve had at least 2 people return to Atlas over the past year – one of which was a VP. We have a very bright future and are actively hiring Software Engineers to support the growth of our product, driven by active and engaged client demand.

Pros

Atlas has preserved many of the great attributes of a startup, without the stress of 100-hour weeks and job security questions. The work environment is energetic and fulfilling. Teammates expect excellence from each other and go out of their way to support each other in improving individual skills. The company culture and leadership values transparency, and ideas for process improvement are heard and considered. No unchangeable and unjustified bureaucracy. Your ideas matter, regardless of your job title.

Cons

Growing the company still involves some thrashing in strategy. Though leadership is focused on results and not time cards, the high expectations make it hard (for me, at least) to stop at a 40-hour week.

Thank you so much for your review! Indeed, we have very high expectations of our employees and coworkers do of each other as well. It can be stressful at times. But the good news is that we're still small enough for each employee to take a lot of ownership and make a big difference. Those who are specifically seeking a challenging, fast paced, competitive, transparent (sometimes to a fault), high risk but high reward culture will thrive here.

Pros

The single best environment/culture I've ever heard of. I've had several of my friends apply after hearing me describe it. Family always comes first. As long as you get your work done, it doesn't matter when you work. Some people work 6-3, some work 12-4, some work on the weekends. Awesome perks, such as ping pong tournaments, movie days, free coffee, etc. Top notch people. They only hire the best and it shows. CEO is a standup guy.

Cons

You will be underpaid, I guarantee it. The CEO knows it and often relays this to you (in a nice manner, thanking you for working with the company). No 401K matching or stocks. Since it is such a small company, you will likely never get promoted or receive anything above a cost of living raise. Management is definitely a good ol boys club.
