      Pros

      yearlong new grad program to acclimatize to working, lots of formal mentorship! also a fan of team anywhere - work anywhere for 90 days. we're able to work efficiently remotely and I love the flexibility.

      Cons

      apex - our performance review program - sometimes is emphasized and informs more decision-making than it should (ie have to always prioritize project impact over tech debt, have to maintain both high impact work and metrics). wish this could be a little bit lax / slightly less structured

      Pros

      Decent salary comparing to the market. Lot of written documentation. Not much meetings.

      Cons

      One big technical debt. People without energy, without initiative. The most exciting part of job is half-year self-assessment. Hard to force yourself to do something, and if you try - then it's hard to have fun with your work when your code compiles 10 minutes, then starts 10 minutes, only to crash and you're never sure if it's your fault or it's flaky environment.

      Pros

      On paper, compensation is good. Nice offices. Some interesting technical challenges. Some really smart coworkers.

      Cons

      Clueless management and "leadership". Squeezing employees and then PIPing them if they are not continually going above and beyond. Fear based culture. Performance review every 6 months that is extremely intensive and engineers are graded on PR count, confluence pages created, interviews given, etc. This leads to overwork and burnout, while software teams don't focus on solving actual problems due to poor management and "leaders" focusing on the wrong things. I am not opposed to performance management, but Atlassian has some severe flaws in their current approach that I believe will negatively impact the company's performance in the long term.
