Pros

Great people and remote work.

Cons

Useless middle managers, leadership that doesn't align with company culture, but not all teams. My middle manager added zero value and was only interested in self-preservation. Even after several people left the team and concerns were raised there was no remediation to address the fundamental issue being they were not the right person for the role. US based leaders were problematic because their working culture does not align with Australia. There is an expectation that Australians are available on their time zone so meetings are often scheduled from 7am, sometimes even earlier. Things really shifted from team work to individual after APEX was introduced. There was a lot more politics and brought out the worst in some people. My manager prevented me from moving to another team. The policy and practice of internal mobility is not aligned. It seems like indicating a desire to move teams exposes individuals to hit the low end of the performance rating bell curve. And, with a poor rating it makes it very difficult to move teams.
