Pros

If you are curious, every family has its own issues but this one just may have it all, which is quite interesting.

Cons

Despite the multitude of changes this past year, working here still has its share of downsides. I can't deny that there are some positive aspects, but my enthusiasm has waned. Compared to my previous workplaces, Atlassian seems to prioritize performance, but the rewards are far from satisfying. The generous equity grants, once a highlight, now pale in comparison to other companies. While you do collaborate with intelligent individuals, the genuine care for the work seems to be diminishing. The constant whirlwind of activity doesn't feel like growth; instead, it's more like being caught in a storm. Sure, there are perks like free breakfasts, lunches, wellness benefits, and kudos, but they no longer shine as brightly. Many other companies offer similar or even better benefits. It's a reminder that, despite the outward appearance, not everything that glitters is gold.

Still lots of good things about it

Pros

There have been many changes in the past year but there are still many good things about working here. I'm still happy to be here. Compared to every other workplace I've experienced, Atlassian values performance and rewards accordingly. There's generous equity grants which blow many other companies out of the water. You get to work with really smart, capable and switched-on people who genuinely care about their work. There's a lot going on so you're continually learning and growing as you do high-impact work on products that so many people use. This is the place to be if you want the work you ship to actually matter. I could go on... Free breakfasts, lunches, wellness benefits, kudos. Not many other companies can compare.

Cons

Lots of change. There is increased pressure to move fast (not really a bad thing in itself but no team can sustain this pace for a long period). But I'd say the biggest con is how many useless or at best, tangential roles there are. Each tries to show its value but really, only add to process, administration and overhead, hindering teams from moving fast and shipping work.

Salary and benefits are really good

Cons

Depending on the manager and team you will be in, the culture is not good. How managers support employees during a tough times or even if it's work-related. Instead of helping you solve the problem, the manager will just let you resolve it and question you. The team and company might be too big for you to grow and learn. I myself feel like, there's nothing for me to do in the team. Not that much work to do and yet they will ask you to bring output. The company should look first if additional headcount is really needed before hiring someone.
