Pay isn’t enough for what you do and put up with, emergency calls and all , especially when new hires come in with same pay as your current pay, after 10 years enough was enough,

Pros

For my most of my employment, I worked from home due to Atmos Energy's strong emphasis on safety of the system, property, and people. My department did a good good job of checking in on the team via periodic one on one's with both levels of leadership in the department. We also played fun, team building activities. Prior to the pandemic, it was fun to watch a quarterly broadcast presented by the management committee from around the enterprise discussing the company and its performance. My floor had a catered meal and gathering of employees from different departments across the floor. Each floor also had at least one coffee room stocked with K-cups, creamers, and more. There were other rewarding events, particularly the week of giving, that were enjoyable as well. My salary was competitive, and my managers that I had during my tenure were patient.

Cons

In March 2020, corporate issued a directive that resulted in most office based jobs working remotely. In 2022, all roles that were designed to be site were informed from executive leadership that the roles would transition back to the office in the late summer. There wasn't an in between of permanent hybrid work or fully remote without question for people's life circumstances that may have made telecommute superior than commuting 5 days a week. Also, average tenure is high at this company, so opportunities for promotions (not progression) may be limited. Many individual contributor roles may grow up to a certain pay grade where they are capped and typical annual merit increases are the only changes to salary.
