Pros

Worldwide, Atos works in interesting areas. There are large scale solutions that are challenging to work with. Many of the policies and procedures are clear and published. The company has business deals with some of the top names in various fields.

Cons

In India, Atos senior management is indecisive and does not communicate the plans with employees. After the acquisition of SIS, a lot of people left because the change was very drastic. HR and Admin have no information about things that fall under their areas. Senior managers promise to answer questions when they attend meeting but then nothing is heard. Till the last day of acquisition, SIS employees used to get frequent updates on the status. After that, there was not a single update. For even critical things like moving the operations from one location to another, no one sends an official notification. Admin refuses to send because they feel they are not empowered to do it. HR doesn't have a clue about when the salary revisions will take place although they are supposed to take place in April.

Pros

Work life balance is supported. Some very good people across the business. Some good technical projects. Good place to get some project experience but you won't get on unless you know who to cow-tow to.

Cons

Massively siloed organisation where the imperative for service lines is to cover your back and avoid responsibility at all costs rather than be supported to take and manage risks. Very difficult to get decent staff in the required timescales to execute to a plan - then taken to task by the senior management because you haven't delivered. No incentive to go the extra mile. There are decent people here. Most are banging their heads against the wall but managing to deliver because of their talent and tenacity and despite of the organisation structure and unhelpful senior management. The business seems to want to badge and measure and genericise the workforce - reduce all staff to the lowest common denominator rather than recognise and reward talent and effort.
