Pros
1.) Paid Certifications. - Atos encourages employees to take certifications 2.) Learning - Atos provides trainings on different programming languages/technologies/etc which you can register to voluntarily 3. ) Hybrid Work setup - 1x a week only. I find that it contributes to productivity of an employee in terms of time and effort. 4.) Security - Atos is a financially sound company based in EU side and has a lot of office locations around the globe. The Security Atos provides, of course is very true and applicable especially if you're in 3rd world country. 5.) Salary - Salary is good especially for experienced developers/employees. This may very per position but so far, from what I know, Atos is able to counter-offer if needed. I know this because one of my colleagues got a counter-offer and he chose to sign with Atos. Again, this perspective is from someone like me hired in a 3rd world country where Atos has an office. Another PRO is that Atos has big International clients and you'll have the chance to work and experience different technologies that's used by other companies. While there are still legacy, luckily, I'm on a project using new technologies and Cloud.
Cons
I think the Cons would vary per location/country. I believe it's not good to generalize. So I'll give my thoughts based on my experience in Atos branch here in our country. Cons : 1.) Alignment of technological learning and career goals sometimes become a challenge. This is applicable especially to those with less or 0 work experience. There was a month that they hired hundreds of fresh graduates for software engineer role. However, given that those are fresh graduates with few to no experience, I saw that they had challenges on assigning them to software development roles. Some ended up doing non-programming roles. The top fresh graduates who has better programming adept are the ones given programming tasks/roles. I think they are now trying to address that and improve the process. I wish those fresh graduates the best because I am one of the technical interviewers. 2.) For myself and other experienced developers, I noticed that there is a presence of politics happening where managers at top management would favor and prioritize Indians first over Filipinos during selection of who to assign to a project. Some of my Filipino colleagues end up waiting in bench for a long time then they felt directionless, and then I have seen many left. There was a period that that happened. Now, I am seeing better Indian managers who has fair judgement and I see they're are making an effort to avoid that from happening. 3.) Engagment I think management should find a way to improve engagement with team members remotely. This is a very challenging thing to address in my opinion. Especially that majority works remotely. Remote works has a lot of benefit. However, I think we can still find way to engage remotely and maintain the setup of Working hybrid. My friend who is part of a team of another company has a once a month engagement meeting with their team where they allow all team members to participate on live online small games (e.g. guessing game) and they all turn on cameras at least 1x a week. So I think it's more about being creative. Doesn't matter if it's remote or face-to-face.
