Pros

Flexibility in work schedule at least for some period of time while employed. Free lunch - if you can get there to get it!

Cons

Unreasonable expectations made of staff without providing resources and/or training to attain the goals. Extremely high hours of work expectation for salaried employees. Poorly staffed, both in numbers and qualifications of staff. Poor job security especially in management, revolving door of staff/managers.

Pros

The residents, they were the best part of the job. I really enjoyed working with them. It allowed me to pursue my passion for health care and Geriatrics. Great co workers and team, everyone generally does care. Learning about people's lives. Generous tution reimbursement Decent health insurance

Cons

Low hourly pay, hardly any raise despite glowing reviews. Huge disconnect between staff and management. Lack of communication between upper management and staff Disorganization Unclear policies Writing up good people who have been there for years and firing them with no reason Horrible leave policy No separate sick, vacation and personal time.

Pros

Developing relationships with the residents is the only reason I have not yet left the company. The residents make it worth the time.

Cons

Endangering ourselves with lifting residents who shouldn't be there, sub-par worker's comp package, pay is horrible, my location hires too many people and then has to cut hours to compensate, medication techs are working as caregivers because of bad management planning, absolutely no opportunity for advancement, 1% raise annually IF you're "beyond exceptional", and even though there is an employee surplus, we are consistently understaffed per shift.
