Pros

As a new employee I immediately felt welcomed and energized by my team. From the executive staff down to my coworkers, the support for new ideas and innovation is apparent. With unlimited growth potential, I can see the direct impact of my work as my ideas are discussed with leadership - and the good ones are implemented - pretty cool experience. Accessibility to Leadership: CEO Jeffrey Frieden spoke to our Belmont offices in a a town hall discussion - everyone from software engineers to salespeople got to ask real question and receive honest answers. Free Food perks: Catered lunches every Wednesday along with hosted cocktail happy hours - can't beat it! A Family of Coworkers: People really love working here - you can feel it in every aspect of the company. Whether it is a welcoming handshake or a stranger offering me a seat with them in the lunch room - people just care about each other here. The Benes and $$$: Coming from a large Fortune 100 company Auction.com not only offered competitive pay and benefits but surpassed my offer expectations. This is most definitely the best company I have ever worked for, and I am excited to learn and grow with my leadership.

Cons

At this point, I can't offer any constructive negative feedback as my impressions of the company have all been wildly positive.

Pros

* Good pay * Talented junior executives (Sr. Director and below) * Flexible work hours * Google investment (they don't care about the Residential business.. they are interested only in commercial real estate)

Cons

Revolving door. There have been more than 10 Senior level exists (C-Level, EVP, SVP and VP) over the last year. Two Chief Legal Officers, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief HR Officer, Chief Operations Officer, at least 4 EVP's, more than 5 SVP's and innumerable VP's have left (mostly) or let go. The company has a interesting business model. However, it is not like the business model cannot be replicated. The only thing going for them is that they are the first entrant to this field (online mortgage sales). Client base is eroding. They are heavily focused on Default asset disposition and with the volume of distressed assets winding down, they don't have a long term focus on non-distressed real estate.

Pros

I have worked in a few different managerial capacities at Auction.com over the last 5+ years. The company has gone through several changes during this time, with the ultimate goal of becoming the leader in online real estate auctions. With that comes both good, and not so good, managerial decisions, which can ultimately have a trickle down effect on the employees of a fast-growing company. With that, the environment at Auction.com is very fast paced and rapidly changing. If this is not the work environment for you, you will most likely not have a positive work experience. However, if you work hard and feel comfortable in this type of work setting, the upward momentum is endless. Compensation is above average for those that are willing to put in an above average work effort. If you possess the experience and credentials necessary to succeed at your job, and you put in the extra effort to achieve success in your position, amazing opportunities are available. As with any fast paced company, there are managers in their jobs that were most likely promoted before they gained the experience and people skills necessary to be successful at their job. However, I have worked for some of the most talented managers here at Auction.com, who showed true dedication to their job and sincere consideration for their staff. I personally have never been "lied" to as another reviewer advised, but again, it's important not to confuse someone being dishonest with the company changing directions.

Cons

Since the company has always moved at such a rapid pace, the communication of new initiatives and company changes are often delayed in transit to the line level staff. This can be frustrating to employees, and can ultimately be perceived as the company not being forthright with information. For myself personally, location is a con for me, as I drive about 60 miles into the office. However, the leaders to whom I have always reported have been flexible with my schedule.
