Pros

Good benefits and reasonable company culture.

Cons

The foreclosure moratorium led to a large percentage of people jumping ship, including mid level management up to c suite. Expect more belt tightening and high turnover.

Pros

Good salary for the OC area. Modern Tech Stack. Great career opportunities, plenty of room to take ownership and plenty of smart coworkers to learn from. Great people, Technology managers in particular were always honest and helpful. Great work life balance. "Unlimited PTO" is great, so long as you can schedule your vacations around projects. Occasionally interesting projects/features.

Cons

Great base salary and bonuses but less equity than other companies. Golden handcuffs would do wonders to employee retention. Can be stingy when the times are tough, free lunch was a great perk but taking it away really hurts morale. The following can all be ignored if you just want a reliable paycheck, but if you really care about what you're making or want to advance to management you should be aware. Buyer side product needs work. New features rarely provide real value or leverage data. Senior Leadership is a mixed bag. All of the directors/C-levels are nice people, but some are fickle and easily distracted. As a result: - Rarely any follow up after a project is finished. - Waaay to much focus on deadlines and not enough focus on polish or metrics. - Teams and projects are frequently changed. - Projects are usually done waterfall rather than iteratively

Pros

Auction.com has a lot going for it after escaping a very disorganized past. The company's new CEO and other new leaders are clear about how to serve customers better so that we STAY the top real estate transaction service. In the Belmont office we have a great bunch of engineers and some nice perks like lunch and games. Engineers definitely hang out with each other and play with drones and hack stuff, which I like. If you think real estate, like all other transactions, will have a growing presence online, then you probably want to be at this company. There is a huge focus on making our culture more fun and serving our diverse workplace better.

Cons

Some of the old guard leadership is still focused on building their own empire inside the company. Product development is generally slow due to lack of engineering resources and said empire builders who have not delegated enough authority to their lieutenants to make real changes, only little tweaks.
