Pros

It is great in tech, research, analytics, data science and product/marketing - No stress, high pay (sometimes even higher than Amazon!) and you don't have to show any tangible deliverables. Leadership is not technically sound and they do not ask probing questions, so you can get away with doing minimal work and staying under the radar. This is why a lot of the mid level (L7) - upper level management (L8) never leave the company and coast around. The company also rarely fires people, so you can relax without any stress for many years if you want to. Culture is quite relaxed and perks are great. Free food and other benefits.

Cons

It takes a few minutes to read through all the reviews and two things stand out - 1. Poor leadership 2. Lack of growth or product innovation. It is a great place to work if you want to spend time with your family or kids, do minimal work and get paid without any stress. If you want to grow in your career and be a respected leader at some point, this is definitely not the place to work.

Pros

Amazon stock, good pay, free audiobooks

Cons

C-suite focuses on their own departmental objectives without cross-functional alignment. There are too many cooks in the kitchen yet no-one willing to be a final decision maker - you raise your opinion but don't stick your neck out lest you get stomped on. Whiplash from endless pivots have lead to near universal burnout. Projects are launched without adequate roadmaps; they are under-resourced and on unrealistic deadlines. Massive investment in content production has not been mirrored across marketing, creative, CS, etc, meaning the company is trying to sell 10X the content with 1X the resources. This cultivates a "hero culture" where folks are rewarded for accomplishing deliverables despite the lack of support; except that it's the NORM instead of the exception. Job levels have been collapsed, essentially halting career growth. New leadership is hired and then they bring in an external consultant that provides a POV that exisiting employees have been shouting for years.

Pros

Perks. Free food. Smart co-workers. Office cultures. Work life balance. Some projects are good.

Cons

1. Location is not ideal. Even though they provide shuttle service from the path station, the location is just not safe. I've seen people getting into fights with blood all over at the station and heard female co-workers being harassed at the station. 2. Managers play favoritism a lot. Be aware of the team you're joining. There are still some good teams and good managers. Not many though. 3. The management has no concern for the employee but only for what's beneficial to themselves. 4. Constant re-org. Lots of politics. You might be surprised. 5. HR team is the worst I've ever seen. A lot of them are not doing their job properly.
