Pros

some great people here fun events at times fast pto accrual and sick time some extra holidays I never got off before

Cons

Being here so far has been extremely disappointing. HR/Employee Relations are one in the same do not trust them to "help" you. They are here to enforce policies that benefit the institution only. I expected much more from a state government/non profit system. I thought it would be more fair and equal. Wrong. They really take advantage of the lack of competitiveness in this area of large employers. They know there are always more people and you're extremely replaceable. The work piles up and the pay does not increase. Some extremely hard workers are paid absolute peanuts due to the low pay bands/pay grades. The benefits are fair, not a steal or deal at all. Just normal prices. You must pay $25 a month to park anywhere, regardless of how far the walk is. It is automatically deducted from your check each pay day. HR/Employee Relations are poor and will only cite policies, gaslight, minimize or ignore issues you bring to them - unless it falls under a liability. I've seen people's confidentiality breached and retaliation ensued by management. If you are a mediocre manager, join AU - they'll protect you no matter what. Management is allowed to run free and rampant in incompetence. AU loves incompetence and micromanagement. There is so much more to get into but I'll stop here.
