      Problems too big to solve

      Pros

      AISD is still one of the few districts willing to outwardly support LGBTQ+ rights, and take a firm public stance on basic human rights issues.

      Cons

      Classroom management is out of control at most campuses across the district. Leadership offers minimal action, but manipulates language to sound like "support" when leadership made it crystal clear they valued compliance to a poorly understood Bambrick Santoyo model over any semblance of teacher autonomy.

      Severely Burnt Out After a Year

      Pros

      Benefits, salary, time off which is nice.

      Cons

      Some schools are so poorly run, with blatant safety issues. I know multiple people who quit mid-year due to safety concerns that were not being addressed. High turnover rate at the "bad" schools and AISD does not care.

      Offers TRS, which is a plus.

      Cons

      It is all DRAMA. I have never worked for an employer that focuses solely on drama and the “popular” group. My mental health took a plunge after being here and not feeling like I was appreciated, or cared about. Want to move up within the company? Good luck, it’s all about who favors you and not your actual job experience, or professionalism.
