Pros

I worked with challenging but rewarding students. Generally supportive admin.

Cons

There were some creative, possibly shady, tactics to get students to graduate but nothing uncommon from other districts.

Pros

Even year round employees get the equivalent to 8 weeks off a year between the Holidays, state and local sick time, vacation and personal leave.

Cons

Pay is based on a schedule and there is no possibility of a merit raise. All raises are given District wide, making it so small it barely makes a difference. Only other way to make more money is to move to another job with a higher level on the pay scale.

Pros

Being able to teach students things I wished I was taught when I was in school.

Cons

Some teachers need to be specific with their instructions of what they want the students to learn while they are away. A lot of times, it is just busy work.
