As an employee at Austin Retina you will gain valuable experience in retina & patient care as well as a second family. Everyone here is SO nice and genuinely supports your learning and professional and personal growth. Anyone who comes into clinic can tell that everyone here is passionate about their job, whether they came in with retina experience or not.

Cons

Depending on the clinic schedule/location, there can be long travel days or occasionally weekend work (depends on position).

I love working here! They foster a culture of inclusivity and being a team player! You can grow and explore whatever your heart desires. They will teach you and train you, all you have to do is be hungry for it and humble enough to get through those growing pains

Cons

I mean, the pay is good but let's be honest, we need doouble what we make to have a comfortable living in Austin

Amazing Job for Someone Starting in Medical Field

Physicians and supervisors are really nice and caring. ARA provides a lot of training when you first start, so you can learn a little bit of everything and choose a field to go into (tech, scribe, photography, team lead). They do a great job of setting you up for success and letting you to choose a position you enjoy. The supervisors don't micromanage and I really appreciate the amount of autonomy they give, it makes creating a work/life balance easy. I've worked here for 1.5 years, and overall it's been an incredible experience with lots of happy memories

Cons

Bonuses are very small compared to other companies but I think the hourly rate is fair. Early mornings when you're traveling. They don't want you to have too much overtime so if you're looking for a lot of OT you might not get it.
