      Flexible with hours. No drug test

      Cons

      Often overworked for small pay. Their techs are expected to travel large distances for the equivalent of a McDonalds cashier. They offered to build an entire apartment complex for "affordable living" rather than just paying their employees an actual livable wage. Multiple people left without giving their two weeks because of how cliquish the work environment is.

      We are so sorry you had a poor experience with us and thanks for your honest review! Our other reviews don't really match up with this story, but we are sorry this is your takeaway from your time at Austin Retina. Our techs definitely make way more than McDonald's cashiers, although cashiers certainly work very hard. We continually benchmark our pay and we're confident that we are extremely competitive on total compensation. We are always looking for people who take pride and accountability in their work -- everyone on our team is passionate about Saving Sight and being of Service to others -- and those who aren't usually decide to leave.       caring doctors. Great doctors! Great patient care

      Cons

      Very understaffed, poor management, favoritism, too busy for COVID, long hours, bad “leadership,” very busy clinic, cliquey, gossip, micromanage, no set schedule, travel, no work life balance. Needs new supervisors.

      Thanks for your honest feedback. Truly sorry you felt this way and we strive for better than what is shown here. We take your point that we aren't perfect. To feel that way is no fun and sorry it didn't work that way for you. This is one reason we continually poll our staff to hear how we can do better. The travel part and set schedule can be true depending on the job, so we try to be up front about that when applicable.

      The doctors are really great to work with

      Cons

      The managers at ARA are chosen by favoritism rather than skill. They are always willing to make the lives and work of their employees much harder rather than do anything themselves. There is really bad favoritism when it comes to promoting leaders which makes clinic worse as well. It’s a really fast paced and hard working environment and the days can be really terrible when you have no support from your superiors.

      Thanks for your honest review. We do love our physicians and they truly lead with integrity and skill. We think our managers are a great reflection of that, but seeing your review makes us truly wonder how we can continue to get better for EACH person. Not everyone has the experience we want them to have and we won't rest until every patient and every employee has the kind of experience with us that they can RAVE about.
