Pros

Fortune 500 company Stability Does right by the customer Friendly work environment No history of layoffs Modest retirement and pension plans

Cons

The pay is not comparable to the industry, very low with unreasonable work expectations. Problem with turnover yet we are punished by picking up the slack with unpaid overtime. People are promoted by favoritism not skill level Boys club atmosphere Executive management does not lead by example They care about our customers but not the employees...just the ones who constantly get promoted for being a yes man.

Pros

The work was very easy and even though I was only an intern I saw all the work that full time people did and I did not take a college level education to do it. The hours are not long or hard and it seems that people very rarely get asked to work overtime. People who work there are nice and polite.

Cons

This was the place office space was modeled after. They have a very conservative office culture and it is in no way stimulating or fostering to creative thought or solutions. Are behind on the technological curve. They only promote from within which is nice for employees but they bring in no fresh ideas or direction.

Pros

Benefits, low expectations, hours of work, and discounts. Overall the company is great to work for. If you are a hard worker and put in a little extra time you can do very well here. They pay for some continued education and are finally starting to get the message that software developers want to work flexible schedules. IT leadership is improving.

Cons

Compensation for high end software developers, software development process, disconnect between executive business and IT. On the software side, the main problem is they develop elite talents and then let them walk because they are unwilling to open up their pocket books. Like a lot of insurance places, they are insurance places, not software places so this is understandable. They started a promotion process that requires you to get software designations. The problem with that is people put the work in and then leave for higher pay.
