Pros

The people were amazing to work with. As in peers and direct reports. I love my managers and my managers managers. I couldn't have asked for more, showing up in the office was made worthwhile because of my team. The job has an amazing on-boarding process, I was a freshie out of college and they prepared me for the role perfectly. With incredible patience, from my peers, and people who relied directly on my work. The work I did, did have value.

Cons

The communication with upper management felt disconnected. And it is a large company with many levels between you and upper management. They put emphasis on "culture" but decisions felt like they were more based on ensuring profit. Which is their job so idk lol :/ It felt like to advance or move somewhere within the company, you are required to make arbitrary lateral movements to prove your worth first, even if your performance or general skills already prove this worth. It is a more traditional company that values tenure and loyalty. The role of Business Analyst is a little wishy-washy for my department at least. It was a glorified project lead, that did not have project lead responsibilities, It was mostly stakeholder management. There are lots of opportunities to do more if you truly go out of your way for it. And my manager gave me opportunities when expressed for sure, but it was limited. Going out of the way to grow is not required and not always rewarded. So many of my peers were satisfied with meeting the status quo. Everyone mentions this and is aware of the company. But the pay is lower than the industry standard. As a Business Analyst, moving to another company can easily net you a 30-40% increase in pay. Potentially more. This was an amazing place for me to get into my career. But not a great place for me to grow.
