      Incredibly smart and driven team that strives for quality

      Pros

      Very smart engineering team that strives for high quality code and product dev, including attention to detail, clean well-architected code, and taking the time to do it right, instead of rushing something out the door. Both the head of engineering and lead architect are always willing to listen to feedback and take other peoples ideas into consideration. Free drinks and snacks.

      Cons

      Demanding work environment that may not fit the typical 9-5 lifestyle. Low tolerance for imperfection or sloppy coding. Very little in the way of fun company activities.

      Great time to work for Autodesk

      Pros

      I've worked for Autodesk for almost seven years. I worked for four other employers previously; non-profit, for-profit, Fortune 50, high-tech, no-tech, ect. This is the best of them all and I'm not thinking about leaving. Autodesk has the benefits of an established company in a fast-paced and innovative industry. It is truly a global company with equal amounts of revenue coming from AMER, EMEA and APAC. It is a good company; kind to the environment, fair to employees and contributes positively to the communities where it is located. Carl Bass, the CEO, socializes with employees, especially on a field, track or court.

      Cons

      Often long and odd hours; calls at 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. People get in here and stay, so you really have to impress to get ahead. Poor performers are not always dealt with so you have to work around them.

      Pros

      Work life balance. Not sure about guys work in other project, but working time is quite flexible. Nice building and working condition. Medical insurance covers the whole family.

      Cons

      Promotion opportunity is limited. Desktop app is not hot in the market now. Some unqualified colleagues. It would be a disaster if happen to work with them. Not a good place for growth.
