A lot like high school, but with paychecks
Pros
Many of the recent college grads are exceptionally brilliant and of good character.
Cons
Root Cause: Early in the company’s history, the CEO developed close, almost parental relationships with the current leadership team. While originally well-intentioned, this led to entrenched favoritism and highly informal treatment of certain individuals. Cultural Impact: This favoritism fostered cliques, discouraged accountability, and created a work environment where “playing” the client and cutting corners were normalized. Communication often relied on vague, technical-sounding language rather than substantive solutions. Resulting Problems: Employees who attempt to improve technical processes, advocate for colleagues, or otherwise contribute positively are often met with resistance or hostility from managers. This appears to stem from insecurity, as genuine improvement may be perceived as a threat to their position or influence.
