Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We agree that there are many remarkable people at Availity who care greatly about their work and each other. Our culture is one reason why we have once again been certified as a Great Place to Work™. We encourage our associates to consider total rewards when considering compensation—health, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, 401K match, annual bonuses, flexible work schedules, remote work, and culture. If you were still here, we would invite you to discuss your concerns with your manager or HR Business Partner. Thank you again for providing this feedback. We wish you well in your next chapter.

Your review about Availity is spot-on! Our culture, benefits, opportunities for advancement, and teamwork have landed us on several different Great Place to Work™-certified lists. These designations speak volumes as they result from rankings from our associates. Our goal is to provide an open and inclusive work environment where everyone can enjoy a healthy work-life balance, grow their skills, and have the support they need along the way. Healthcare and IT are fast-paced industries, and sometimes it feels like we are moving at the speed of light, especially with the tremendous growth we have experienced. But we have the right teams and processes to be successful—everyone at Availity has a vital role in delighting our customers. Thank you again for your feedback. We are thrilled that you are part of our great culture.

Pros

*Pay. *Dental Benefits. *Vision benefits. *401K * PTO *Opportunities to grow. *Overtime. *Very fair work environment. Those are the cliff notes. Availity is a great company to work for. I love working here. My colleagues and supervisor/directors, are the best I can ask for. Very understanding, fair, honest, and always challenging you (in a good way). In an Operations role, you see all sides of Availity. The call center side, the backend, the sales and account management sides. You get to meet new people everyday and build friendships with personnel in other departments. Those friendships can lead into your next position. Availity, from the call center to operations center, are always trying to push you with a simple question, “where do you want to go next?”. Managers WANT you to move up. As Availity loves to promote within, it’s an amazing and very simple dynamic. As you can start on the “front lines” of client services (which is basically tech support) and move anywhere you want (as long as you work hard, show up, and stay dedicated). Working here is an experience. I do not plan to leave, I plan to keep working hard and getting skilled for future opportunities. Oh, unlike most decent sized companies, you will actually run into the CEO Russ, if your at the office (depending on the day). He’s a really laid back, and a chill personnel. He gets my approval.

Cons

Availity does have cons. The medical benefits are not great. The apps.availity.com site UI feels 2010. The good news is, we have plans to change that. When it breaks down to the business aspect of Availity, this where it can be conflicting. There are more sales personnel and account managers, than developers per team (which is about 1 or 2). This causes backlog in production and feature request tickets. Some teams are excellent at their role, but do not have the resources to repair or change anything. Some teams ignore issues, and you question if there is a lack of care or lack of understanding their own application. This is disappointing and can be extremely frustrating, when it occurs. This is not every department, most, are very helpful, of course there are always “bad apples”. Communication is a lot better than it used to be, BUT it’s still not great between departments. Teams will just change protocols or features on a dime, and not notify the teams that are directly affected. This, is terrible, and absolutely unacceptable. All of this compacted, results in a not so great experience for clients, the ones we built everything for in the first place. Providers, billing specialists, and other business opportunities.

Wow! Thank you for such a thorough and thoughtful review. We appreciate the real feedback. Availity is a great place to work and a place where you can have a long, successful career in healthcare. So many of our associates have grown their careers with us; it’s what makes Availity feel like a family. You’ve hit the nail on the head, we do need to improve cross-departmental team collaboration and communication. We’ve heard this same feedback on our annual associate engagement survey. When you’re in a hyper-growth phase like Availity is now, processes are put to the test and communications can break down. The good news is that we know this is an issue and we are working to make improvements across the board. Better defined processes, more transparency and communication, increased accountability, and recognition of achievement are all on the table. The best part is that Availity is a place where we can talk openly about these challenges and work together to solve them. Again, thank you for your review. We are glad to have you on our team!
