Pros

Worked with wonderful people that really cared for those who lived within the community. Depending on the community you work in, it can be a positive experience.

Cons

Slow to respond to customer complaints, always felt like they preferred to save money before customer service. This was the case no matter what community you worked at. you just had to work with what you had.

Pros

Avalon is decent company. They are always working on improving processes and rolling out new customer service programs, etc.There is room for growth and transfer opportunities as the company is large and has properties in markets. Most paid holidays of any company I've worked for. Quarterly meetings and summer picnics with the rest of the day off are also a nice incentive.

Cons

Pay is low. If you're offered a job, negotiate your salary because it's not going up much from there once employed. I have also seen great employees be pushed out of the company by upper management. Which makes me wonder if I'm actually valued.

Pros

I was brought into the AvalonBay family when AvalonBay acquired Archstone Communities a few years ago. At first I was apprehensive, but quickly discovered that this company actually LISTENS to its associates and treats them like valuable assets. Avalon has truly grown to be a place that I enjoy working. Pay is good, work life balance is good, management treats you like family, easy to promote.

Cons

I would like to see more properties in other parts of the LA county market. Would love the opportunity to be able to promote and be closer to home! (Long Beach)
