Pros

The residents are wonderful and the co workers really work well together. We keep each other up during low times. We are soon to become a union.

Cons

Supervisors are our on call people which means we always work short. Bad pay. Take anyone who comes in the door. Supervisors hide in offices. They don't address the employees who are not repositioning residents every two hours and unfortunately have health issues due to it. No overtime, they will instead cut you hours the following week and have staff work short because of it. The schedule is always a huge mess with false promises. Also, the poc is never up to date on resident care so we have to chart even more because supervisors don't take the time to fix it. Even after a resident has passed away.

Pros

Flexible schedule: willing to work with school.

Cons

Terrible pay (fours years experience and only making a quarter more an hour than starting pay starting pay for someone with no experience. ) Terrible staff to resident ratios: 1 caregiver to 1 full assist people in a memory care unit. Nepotism Amount of staff does not increase when amount of residents or care increases because they do not have to follow the same state laws that skilled nursing and long term care has to follow.
