The hour situation is not explained to the fullest extent upon hire. Hours are set via a chart. The chart is called census. Census means your hours are set per DAY based on the number of patients in the building. That means, your hours will change DAILY and you have to check your hours the previous night at midnight to see how many hours you will work the next day. I was hired under the condition that my employment was for a full time position starting at 30 hours but within two weeks it would go up to 40 after our COIVD order was lifted. My hours only decreased over time (among with all staff). Not only that, but suddenly, coperate decided to change the senses chart without notice so the hour scale would be less. For example, if I use to work 5 hours a day for 30 residents, now it would be 4.5 hours a day for 30 residents. This also effects your health benefits. If you are an Activities Director you are responsible for creating and planning MONTHLY calendars of events. They expect you to do this with a days notice of hours. I have also heard horror stories of Avamere not believing emoployees, not paying bonuses, not training employees, and covering issues up. There is a huge disconnect between corperate offices and facilities and if you push back regarding not being able to complete the tasks within the lower hours you are looked down upon as you "cant handle it". Also, residents pass away and Management doesnt eknowledge it, inform employees, or support employees/residents on grief. Burn out is huge and deserves to be delt with!
