      Great talent, poor sales approach

      Pros

      Company has very skilled and knowledgeable technical experts. Impressive library of assets to be leveraged for sales and project delivery purposes.

      Cons

      Typically not very cost competitive in the regional / local direct markets. Majority of services sold and delivered on Accenture's coat tails. Many internal processes that incumber speed and flexibility when working with clients.

      Pros

      Outstanding training and some awesome staff. Benefits and compensation are competitive. Technology is innovative and always cutting edge.

      Cons

      Career path is not as great as it sounds. There are levels employees can aspire to reach; however, the number of promotions is capped at each valuation period. Treat employees equally in all situations. Retain proven talent as is preached all the time. Be truthful about terminations.

      Great company if you need staff augmentation for Microsoft technologies

      Pros

      Avanade has been growing at a fast pace and will continue to do so. This provides great growth opportunities for people with deep Microsoft technology experience.

      Cons

      Avanade is a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture & Microsoft, and in many cases has to compete with its parents for business at Enterprise accounts; this leads to some dysfunctional behavior between account teams. Many customers have never heard of Avanade, from a brand awareness perspective. And in my opinion there are way too many processes and procedures internally that hinder flexibility / agility when pursuing business.
