Pros

Lots of travel, good assuming you like it. Average pay and benefits. Great fringe benefits like airline miles. You are usually stuck in the trenches with likeminded coworkers, so you build team camaraderie and make friends quickly.

Cons

The mentoring/management system is convoluted - you get a random boss who doesn't know you, doesn't care about you, and doesn't spend any time with you. Semiannual reviews are like meetings of a secret society, and you have no chance of going anywhere if you don't know someone on the inside. Upper management is largely inaccessible. Avanade is attached to their partner Accenture at the hip, even though Accenture engagements are universally horrible and have high failure rates - but they refuse to cultivate independent engagements. Their other partner, Microsoft, is treated like a competitor - expect no help from them.

Pros

Good compensation and chance to be on interesting projects

Cons

Unfair performance evaluation based on secret meeting more suitable to a secret society than respectable company.

Pros

The money is well worth your chance to learn... from the client, and the clients' industry. Anyone can get online education courses about anything that Avanade offers you.

Cons

The go to great lengths to make you think they have direction. But their direction is often in direct conflict with what Accenture's goals. Despite how they play up the partnership with Microsoft, that was in the past. Avanade "orients" you to do things their way, but more often than not you are being paid to do things the clients way which has little or nothing to do with Avanade's or Accenture's method. Bottom line is Accenture is the slave master to developers and tech writers from India, Avanade is the slave owners to the PM's and BA's who are put in the middle between what the client wants and how Avanade will burn through the budget trying to implement their method leaving you dazed and confused.
