A bunch of very smart engineers The opportunity to work on excellent technologies and a exciting field A flexible, casual work environment competitive benefits

Cons

The economy has affected Avid and caused it to make some difficult decisions. The decisions made have made sense but the application of these decisions hasn't been handled well. The casual environment has bled over to how engineering practices have been managed. This is improving but slowly.

Great product but no new development

I worked for the company for a long time. When David Krall was the CEO the company was profitable and was a fun place to work. The new CEO gary greenfield dosn't know what he is doing. He dosn't understand the business and is spending all the companies cash. He is a negative for the company. Everyone thinks he was brought in to split the company up but the ecomomy went bad and he wasn't able to. Let's hope Avid's board see's the light on Gary.
