Pros
All of the staff who I worked with at Avoca were lovely. Always a welcoming environment for the most part. Lunch and tea / coffee is available on your break for free / minimal cost. It was a family run company and you felt appreciated.
Cons
Since Aramark took over the company began to feel less like a family run business and more a corporate machine, not only to the detriment of the staff but also to the detriment of the products and services. A pay rise was never considered, I fought for a slight raise and after 6 years in the company I received 40 cent extra per hour. I handed in my notice after being told there was no money for any pay rises, yet heard that coworkers received substantial raises around the same time.
