A few from the top of my head:
* Performance reviews seem arbitrary and based on a need to distribute people across the spectrum. It seems they can't have too many "good performers".
* You're welcome to provide any feedback you want, as long as you tell them what they want to hear.
* The "Axcient Values" look good on paper, but you'll rarely see them applied in practice. "Do as I say not as I do" I guess.
* Teams are not aligned at all, with every team lead and/or manager pulling towards their own interest while missing the big picture. The company as a whole seems to be going nowhere and partners have been noticing for a while.
* We lost several key talents on the engineering teams. Retention efforts by the company are unheard of.
* Acquisitions that made no sense before they happened and still make no sense today.
* Management does not clearly state their intentions and expectations, I always wondered if this was deliberate or just plain incompetence.
* Too much "process" for the sake of the process and not as a way to support the development effort.
* I've been hearing that "next quarter we'll turn cash-flow positive" for about 2 years now.
* There's never a penny left on budget for raises or more developers / technicians but the company hires new salespeople and marketing every week. They even hire a few new managers every now and then. Why so many managers? Why so little devs? I thought we were making a software product not an HR agency.
I don't know what happened, things were not like this 2 yrs. ago. A lot of managers got shifted around, CEOs were replaced one after another, people started to leave, eFolder and Axcient got merged for no reason, more people left, and it seems that during the process, the company forgot it's purpose.
We used to be "the people behind your cloud".
What you've become, Axcient?
For I do not know.
