Pros

Incredible laboratory for innovation, creativity, fusion, media, business, visuals, networking and storytelling.

Cons

I don't have any real cons. This is one of the happiest, most motivated workplaces in the US that I know of.

Pros

I have enjoyed working at Axios since I got hired - it is an exciting place to work with a lot of brilliant people who are not afraid to break the status quo. Mostly this works out really well. People (HR) team is creative and supportive with ways to make everyone feel included and involved. Transparency from leadership is valued and not just in words alone - they really practice it every day. It is nice to be regularly given specific, honest updates on the status of the company. Lots of fun perks like snacks, religious holidays off, and a very nice Arlington VA office. Retreats are a blast. Culture is strong and continually improved on, even across multiple offices and remote employees. Transition to all remote with covid situation has been as flawless as it can be and I feel well cared for despite the situation.

Cons

No 401k match. Leadership stresses confidentially about salaries (this is a personal thing and not enforced in any way, but this can be a con for some people). Company is growing fast and you need to be ready to put in the time and be able to pivot if necessary. Somewhat restrictive social media guidelines for personal accounts.

Pros

Leadership (from the founders on down) has a person-first approach to engaging staff. Although we take our work very seriously and much is expected, we are given the utmost respect and treated as human beings with opinions, feelings, and lives outside of Axios. In the midst of this pandemic, Jim VandeHei has been SUPER communicative and transparent about decisions made and future plans for the company that have a goal of protecting us all. He is truly a war-time CEO who leads with grace and calm in the midst of chaos, which gives me hope and eases my anxiety during this time.

Cons

Benefits aren't bad, they could be more robust but for a 3-year-old company I'd say we're doing pretty good there and I think our benefits will evolve as we grow.
