Pros

While I am not directly responsible for designing or making the amazing products that are helping make our communities safer, I am fully aware of the impact I have on making our business successful. I have a lot of autonomy, full access to executive leadership and for the most part the tools and resources to get my job done. It's a high-energy, fast paced environment and we aren't stuck in the "that's the way we've always done it" mind-set. I have also benefitted greatly from the "take the time you need" PTO policy. Although employed for just over a year, I have taken time off for an illness, vacation and to deal with an illness / death in the family - all hassle-free. I have a great relationship with my manager; I believe I am a valued member of the team and that my work/life balance is recognized as important to me.

Cons

As we scale, we are sometimes standard policies / practices. That could also be considered a pro, as it let's us be nimble, but can be confusing / frustrating for new employees.

Pros

TASER has a spectacular mission that most of the employees believe in whole-heartedly. It is an awesome experience to work alongside employees who are committed, innovative, and... yes, just a little bit zany. The most exciting thing about working at TASER right now is seeing a company revolutionize before your eyes. In the last two years, TASER has basically doubled in size and significantly expanded its suite of product offerings. While TASER's rapid growth has created its own unique challenges, it has also pushed the company to be better than ever in order to continue attracting top-notch talent. In the last two years, TASER has added a generous maternity/paternity leave policy, revived its company book club, expanded its on-site Lunch & Learn series, initiated a diversity/inclusion training series, enhanced employee service awards, started multiple continuous improvement projects, and more. TASER has had, and probably will continue to have, its rocky moments. But, right now it's on an exciting upward trajectory.

Cons

TASER lacks appropriate documentation and process for a company of its size. This results in a lot of mistakes and re-work that can be very frustrating. TASER's rapid growth has also resulted in the addition of a lot of employees without the manager training to match. This means that a lot of individual contributors are not given the amount of guidance they need to really succeed at their job. The lack of an updated org chart results in a lot of lost time for new employees as they try to learn who does what in our organization.
