Pros

Extremely helpful people who are always willing to answer questions on issues. You can email anyone out of the blue here and they will respond with either a suggestion for who to contact or a detailed list of tips for you. Safety is a universal priority. Good pay and benefits, with opportunities to advance. A variety of different processes and technologies, so you can get a variety of experience while staying with the company.

Cons

Opportunities can be limited at smaller sites, and many of them have high turnover and a less open-minded culture. The company reorganizes things a lot and tends to outsource things like IT to other countries, making it harder to get specific access rights. Many sites are consistently understaffed and the people are overworked since BASF prioritizes keeping headcount low. While employees are not often laid off, many roles are lost due to attrition and not backfilled.
