Pros

Compensation is fair and benefits are above average. Good variable compensation. Colleagues are knowledgeable . Teamwork is the norm at least in the lower ranks.

Cons

Diversity is more important than competence. Local HR is good but corporate HR is beyond a problem. Constant reorganizations have had an increasing demoralizing effect.

Pros

None. Company name looks good on your future resume?

Cons

Working at the former BASF Catalysts/Engelhard site is a dead end job. Smart employees try to leave as soon as possible to other locations. Turnover at offices and especially R&D is very high. Senior VPs joke why someone would accept an offer here as opposed to a normal outfit like Exxon or DuPont. Everyone below a 5.1 strata (include technicians) are grossly underpaid (by some 15-20k per year). Bonuses, though promised, are not fully delivered even prorated for your first year. Morale at site is terrible--management treats employees as second class citizens and without respect.

Pros

High compensation, good work-life balance

Cons

They say they are all about "safety" but when it comes to orders going out you are just a number, micro management, upper management uses foul language
